  • Guaranteed Hours : (36 hours / week)
  • Compensation : Based on experience (Negotiable)

Job Summary :

The Nurse Manager of Critical Care (Medical ICU) is responsible for the overall management, coordination, and evaluation of nursing services within the Adult Critical Care departments. This role ensures that patient care is delivered in alignment with the hospital's mission, vision, and values, while maintaining compliance with professional standards and regulatory requirements.

The Nurse Manager will provide leadership in planning, organizing, delegating, and evaluating the delivery of care and services. This position requires a collaborative approach, working closely with medical staff, interdisciplinary teams, and hospital leadership to achieve optimal patient outcomes, staff satisfaction, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Plan, organize, and direct the operations of the Adult Critical Care unit to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care.
  • Collaborate with medical staff, nursing, and other department leaders to maintain efficient coordination of patient care activities.
  • Ensure adherence to established nursing standards, policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Maintain effective communication among staff, patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop staff, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and professional growth.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient outcomes, staff performance, and departmental productivity.
  • Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety, care efficiency, and service effectiveness.
  • Manage departmental budgets, resources, and staffing to align with organizational goals.
  • Participate in hospital committees and initiatives to advance nursing practice and operational excellence.
  • Qualifications :

  • Experience :
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent acute care leadership experience in Critical Care (preferably 2+ years in ICU leadership ).

  • Education :
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) required.

  • Advanced degree preferred.
  • Licensure / Certifications :
  • Current RN license in the State of Texas (or Compact License).

  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
  • Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification AHA or American Red Cross.
  • CCRN and / or CNRN certification preferred.
