This role will be part of our Investment Research IT team at State Street Investment Management. Our team provides quality assurance on investment data, development, analysis and support in managing research data for various asset classes. IT team helps the core research team to maintain various proprietary research models, underlying data infrastructure and ensuring normal operations at State Street IM.
As a member of this team, the candidate will utilize her / his prior work experience and subject matter expertise on investment data to oversee the quality control process, establish new quality checks / improve upon existing quality controls to enhance the accuracy of the data used and generated by the research models.
Responsibilities :
- Escalation point for Incident Management -including major incidents
- Escalation for team handling advanced Support of finance applications including analysis of production issues that fall outside predefined procedures
- Review and monitor issue tracking via ticket tracking system and participation in Metric document production
- Guide ownership of problems and driving towards resolution
- Process improvement-review and enhance as needed with a goal towards efficiency and effectiveness
- Onboarding of new support requirements -outline requirements and clarify possible break points
- Understand financial instruments, basic financial engineering and data items associated with them
- Improve (and in some case build) robust monitoring process around investment data and perform data investigations.
- Engage with vendors as per need basis and evaluate macroeconomic data available across vendors. Analyze market data coverage for various asset classes as per the requirements.
- Work independently on data issues using SQL, MS Excel.
- Coordinate and communicate across asset class specific data specialists, developers, Incident Management team, research teams locally / globally.
Requirements :
Good understanding of capital markets, concepts and the data associated with it. Well versed with equity fundamentals and fixed income analytics. Prior experience in handling Index / security level datasets is a plus.Familiar with investment data from vendors such as FACTSET, Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters (Refinitiv), MSCI, and S&P etc.Someone with good analytical skills, ability to build simple formulae in Excel and R (or similar platform) and study data patterns independently.Familiar with monitoring of production systems with large scale data transmission.A self-starter with excellent organizational, time and relationship management skills.Very detail oriented with ability to work with both Developers and Business users.Education & Preferred Qualifications :
Bachelor's in mathematics / Statistics / Computer Science / Information Technology with reputed industry experience in investment data domain or assisting investment research teams.3-5 years’ work experience in investment data domain having in depth understanding of either Fixed income or Equity asset class data.Minimum 3+ years of experience fulfilling the responsibilities described above.Hands on experience in SQL Programming, basic database concepts.Hands on experience in Job orchestration and troubleshooting using Autosys. (Similar tools)Hands on experience in shell scripting and basic understanding of unix operating systems.Excellent communication and presentation skills.Salary Range : $90,000 - $142,500 Annual
