Registered Respiratory Therapist Qualifications

Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification

Minimum 1 year of recent experience as a Respiratory Therapist in a hospital environment

Experience with 12-hour night shifts and rotating schedules

Current BLS certification (or ability to obtain before start date)

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Respiratory Therapist Responsibilities

Provide high-quality respiratory care to patients in the hospital's Respiratory Therapy unit

Assess, plan, and implement respiratory therapy interventions as directed by physicians and patient needs

Monitor patient responses and modify treatments as necessary

Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain respiratory therapy equipment

Accurately document all respiratory care provided in compliance with hospital policies

Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to achieve optimal patient outcomes
