Distribution Specialist
The Distribution Specialist is responsible for pulling and staging food products. This role handles the physical side of fulfilling orders and documenting and arranging them. The Food Bank's team is dedicated to creating an efficient food distribution network to reduce and help end hunger across the state. Primary Responsibilities :
- Store, stage, and pack food products
- Responsible for keeping pick locations full, including restacking and rearranging product
- Ensure timely pulling of large delivery orders in order of importance
- Check all orders to verify the accuracy
- Restock product as needed following specific food storage guidelines
- Verify pick bins and work with the Inventory team to ensure accuracy
- Assist in maintaining accurate inventory counts; may research inventory to verify zeros
- Assist in pulling product from the warehouse to pick slots
- Load and unload trucks when assistance is needed
- Assist with staging and loading partner orders, actively assisting with the physical loading of products into vehicles as needed
- Assist with partner shopping, sorting, stocking, and arranging of the Fresh Food Center as needed
- Ensure maximum and accurate inventory is available
- Maintain the warehouse in a neat, clean, and orderly manner according to Feeding America (FA) and the American Institute of Baking (AIB) standards
- Meet with volunteers and train for distribution and pulling procedures; reinforce safe work behavior of volunteers
- Secure distribution area at the end of each shift and the end of the work day
- Follow all safety guidelines and regulations

Standing and walking throughout the shift; sitting intermittentlyUse of heavy equipment on a daily basis including forklift, stand up / sit down lift truck, step up pallet jack and automatic pallet jackAbility to push and pull up to 2,000 lb. pallets with a manual pallet jackRegularly lift or move up to 50 poundsWarehouse environment, frequent refrigerated warehouse environment including a Freezer at -10 degrees and a Cooler at 32-39 degrees (up to 30%)Required Qualifications :
High School diploma or equivalent requiredPrior experience working in a warehouse / manufacturing environment preferredForklift certification preferredExperience with Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook and warehouse management systems a plusExpected Hours of Work :
This role is considered full-time, non-exempt working approximately 40 hours per week in person. Work schedule will be Monday Friday from 7 : 30 am 4 : 00 pm.
Compensation : $20.60 Hourly
