Special Education Teacher - Detroit, MI

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

An opportunity is available for a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support an elementary special education program in a school located in Detroit, MI. This full-time contract position runs immediately through June 11, 2026, providing a stable placement for educators passionate about making a difference in diverse student populations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction in a resource room and self-contained special education classrooms.
• Support creative learning programs tailored to students with a wide range of special needs.
• Manage an elementary school caseload that may include lower elementary through older students.
• Collaborate with teaching staff and support personnel to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelors Degree in Education required; Masters or Doctoral Degree in Special Education preferred.
• Valid Michigan teaching certificate with special education endorsements (no substitute licenses accepted).
