As a Patient Financial Counselor, you will engage with patients to address their financial concerns, offering guidance on available assistance and healthcare coverage options. Your role will involve assessing payment sources, creating payment plans, and collecting payments from patients.

This is a full-time position requiring flexible availability for rotating shifts within our business hours. Some overtime may be necessary based on business needs. Our office is located at 725 American Ave, Waukesha, WI 53188.

We provide 4 - 6 weeks of paid training, with training hours discussed on your first day of employment.

Primary Responsibilities :

• Screen patients for potential healthcare coverage and financial assistance, determining eligibility and billing requirements.
• Counsel patients on their financial responsibilities and evaluate their suitability for in-house programs such as Free Care, Discounted Care, and Payment Plans, ensuring all accounts are screened for further opportunities.
• Conduct daily reviews of qualifying inpatients to assess and offer financial assistance prior to discharge.
• Act as a liaison with various departments to determine financial options and provide counseling for scheduled procedures and price inquiries.
• Record and prepare statistics related to outreach for financial assistance programs.
• Maximize revenue collections.
• Reduce accounts receivable losses (bad debt) using provided workflows, technology, and tools.
• Maintain a safe environment in compliance with NLH policies; report and address any environmental hazards or safety violations observed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The pay range for this role is $17.74 to $31.63 per hour, based on several factors including local labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications.
