Project Coordinator Donor Development (Volunteer)

Support Our Donor Engagement Work Through Effective Project Coordination

Were seeking a Project Coordinator to help the Donor Development team stay organized, connected, and on track. If youre detail-oriented, proactive, and passionate about supporting purpose-driven work, this is a great opportunity to build experience in nonprofit project coordination.

Were powered by skilled volunteers and a small core staff from students to seasoned pros who believe in ethical, independent journalism free from corporate or political influence.

About The Role

As the Project Coordinator for Donor Development, youll :

  • Attend bi-weekly Donor Development meetings (Tuesdays at 12 : 00 PM ET)
  • Maintain task lists and project trackers using tools like Trello or spreadsheets
  • Support communication between team members and collaborators
  • Help document timelines, task ownership, and next steps
  • Follow up on outstanding items to ensure smooth progress
  • Prepare basic visuals or summaries (e.g., checklists, slides, project updates)
  • Help flag challenges or delays and escalate when necessary

What Were Looking For

  • Some experience in project coordination or team-based work (internships and early-career welcome!)
  • Strong organization, communication, and follow-up skills
  • Comfortable with tools like Trello, spreadsheets, and Google Workspace
  • Self-motivated and reliable in a remote environment
  • Passionate about nonprofit work and mission-driven fundraising

    We ask for a commitment of 57 hours per week and a minimum of 6 months. This includes bi-weekly meetings, project updates, and follow-up communication.
