A growing engineering firm is seeking an experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer to lead projects and contribute to business development. This is an opportunity to help build a firm from the ground up -you'll have the autonomy to shape processes, mentor junior staff, and make a significant impact as the company expands.
We're looking for seller-doer professionals who can combine technical expertise with client-facing skills to drive growth and strengthen relationships.
Responsibilities
- Manage geotechnical projects independently, from proposal to delivery.
- Prepare clear, concise technical reports and proposals .
- Build and maintain strong client relationships; attend meetings and site visits.
- Review and interpret geotechnical data; ensure compliance with standards.
- Mentor junior engineers and support team development.
- Assist with business development , leveraging contacts and identifying opportunities.
- Participate in occasional travel for client engagement and project kick-offs.
Requirements
Maryland PE license (or ability to transfer quickly).8+ years of geotechnical engineering experience .Strong technical writing and communication skills.Experience with shallow foundations, piles, slope stability, and government projects.U.S. work authorization.Preferred
Master's or Ph.D. in Geotechnical Engineering .Experience with instrumentation and installation.Business development experience and client relationships in Virginia.Familiarity with MDOT, VDOT, MDTA, and state highway projects.What's Offered
