Lead Winder

This is a Lead Winding position for 1st Shift.

This position is responsible for maintaining winding production, metric tracking and ensuring the shift is working safely.

• Assist winders in setting up machines
• Moving materials within the shop to stage for machine setup
• Coordinate with maintenance to schedule preventative maintenance
• Ensure shop completes unscheduled downtime target and daily schedule attainment goals
• Communicate with material handlers and machine operators to ensure flow is moving in / out of shop
• Service as back-up winder
• Utilize radio to make communication with the winding shop
• Serve as training coordinator for the winders
• Answer questions from team members
• Populates machine run-time data on the LEAN board after each shift
• Assist supervisor with inventory reports and act as supervisor in leads absence
• HS Diploma / GED preferred.
• 1-3 years of transformer and manufacturing experience required.
• Basic skills in MS office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) required.
• WMS (Warehouse Management System) experience preferred.
• OSHA10 certification preferred.
• Material handling equipment experience (forklift, crane, etc.) preferred.
• A proven track record in safety excellence is required.
• Adheres to all safety and environmental compliance regulations set by the organization. Notifies management immediately of any safety concerns, hazardous conditions, or injuries.
• Ability to interpret work orders and ensure the team has what they need to be set up for success to execute.
• Meet department and production goals set by supervisor.
• Ensure product quality meets company and client expectations.
• Possess a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, cooperative attitude, strong attention to detail and can work in a team environment.
• Adheres to the company's employee handbook policies and embodies the organization's core values.
• Ability to learn other department job functions and fill in as needed.
• Complete company compliance and safety training when required.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule and work under pressure in a fast-paced work environment.
