This is a Lead Winding position for 1st Shift.
This position is responsible for maintaining winding production, metric tracking and ensuring the shift is working safely.
- Assist winders in setting up machines
- Moving materials within the shop to stage for machine setup
- Coordinate with maintenance to schedule preventative maintenance
- Ensure shop completes unscheduled downtime target and daily schedule attainment goals
- Communicate with material handlers and machine operators to ensure flow is moving in / out of shop
- Service as back-up winder
- Utilize radio to make communication with the winding shop
- Serve as training coordinator for the winders
- Answer questions from team members
- Populates machine run-time data on the LEAN board after each shift
- Assist supervisor with inventory reports and act as supervisor in leads absence
- HS Diploma / GED preferred.
- 1-3 years of transformer and manufacturing experience required.
- Basic skills in MS office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) required.
- WMS (Warehouse Management System) experience preferred.
- OSHA10 certification preferred.
- Material handling equipment experience (forklift, crane, etc.) preferred.
- A proven track record in safety excellence is required.
- Adheres to all safety and environmental compliance regulations set by the organization. Notifies management immediately of any safety concerns, hazardous conditions, or injuries.
- Ability to interpret work orders and ensure the team has what they need to be set up for success to execute.
- Meet department and production goals set by supervisor.
- Ensure product quality meets company and client expectations.
- Possess a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, cooperative attitude, strong attention to detail and can work in a team environment.
