Job descriptionServe as the sole in-house provider for scheduled SICU night shifts Manage critically ill surgical patients and respond to emergent clinical needs Communicate with the attending physician, who is available by phone 24 / 7 and can come onsite if necessary Perform comprehensive assessments and implement treatment plans for surgical ICU patients Coordinate care transitions and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all patient encounters Minimum of 3 years experience required in a critical care setting Active Ohio nurse practitioner license required Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification required Long credentialing process; start as soon as credentialed Strong compensation Travel-related expenses covered A-rated medical malpractice insurance provided Dedicated recruiter for future travel opportunities Whether you need long term coverage for your practice, short term vacation coverage, or anything in between – you can trust Barton Associates to provide the flexible staffing solutions your organization needs to thrive. About The Position
We are seeking a Critical Care Nurse Practitioner for a 182-day locum tenens assignment in Ohio, starting Nov 3, 2025. This role features flexible scheduling with 12-hour night shifts in the SICU, serving as the sole in-house provider per shift. Candidates must have at least 3 years of critical care experience and be comfortable with a fluid schedule structure.
