Job Description
Summary :
The High School Special Education Teacher will develop and implement individualized educational and behavioral programs for high school students with special needs. This position requires collaboration with instructional assistants, behavioral staff, related service providers, parents, and external professionals to ensure each student receives personalized support. The ideal candidate is a dedicated educator who can adapt instruction, manage classroom environments, and foster positive student growth both academically and behaviorally.
What You’ll Do :
Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs.Design instructional strategies and select materials aligned with IEP goals and curriculum standards.Deliver engaging instruction across all required subject areas.Prepare and submit quarterly report cards, mid-quarter reports, and IEP progress updates.Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and multidisciplinary staff.Evaluate academic and behavioral progress, and adjust instruction accordingly.Implement classroom behavior management programs and group interventions.Maintain an organized, safe, and supportive classroom environment.Supervise students throughout the day, including during transitions, bus duty, and playground periods.Manage classroom budgets and report expenditures to supervisors.Experience You’ll Need :
Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field (required).Minimum qualification for a Provisional Certificate in Special Education or content area.Experience teaching or supporting students with special needs preferred.Strong classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills.Commitment to differentiated instruction and student-centered learning.Why Join :
