Senior Calibration Technician

Join the Pharmaceutical Calibrations and Instrumentation (PCI) team!

We are seeking a Senior Calibration Technician to perform calibrations onsite at our client pharmaceutical facilities in Norwood, MA, and other sites in the area if needed. If you prefer working in a fast-paced, 'on the go' environment rather than at a desk, have a passion for quality work, and possess a strong electronics or instrumentation background, this position may be ideal for you. Up to 50% travel is required based on project and client needs, as this is considered a 'field service' position, although the role is projected to be at least 75% in the Boston metro area.

This position focuses on performing preventive maintenance, qualifications, relocations, and calibrations of instruments such as electronics, temperature devices, pressure gauges, centrifuges, incubators, balances, and others found in pharmaceutical manufacturing and laboratory environments.

The Senior Calibration Technician reports directly to the Team Leader, Manager, or Director depending on the organizational structure. These positions are non-exempt.

Expectations :

Calibration Technicians complete calibrations, qualifications, and PMs with accurate and timely GxP documentation, following PCI and / or client-specific policies and procedures. They are expected to support the team proactively and build trust with internal and client personnel by upholding PCI Values : Honesty, Integrity, Pride, Accountability, Teamwork, and Commitment.

In addition, Tech II personnel are expected to have a broader knowledge of instrumentation and regulatory compliance, continuing training on new instrumentation, and understanding of pharmaceutical and FDA requirements. Tech III personnel are expected to identify and execute tasks that add value for clients and provide guidance on technical issues, troubleshooting, and innovative solutions. Tech SR personnel are expected to engage with clients strategically, providing high-level direction and developing value-added solutions.

Responsibilities / Assignments :

• Oversee and supervise calibrations, qualifications, and PMs, ensuring compliance and safety.
• Provide guidance, direction, and effective solutions to clients and PCI resources.
• Uphold PCI values and serve as a role model to associates.
• Ensure proper handling and maintenance of equipment, training others accordingly.
• Manage project planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and scope changes, ensuring profitability and safety compliance.
• Develop and maintain client relationships, expanding PCI services, and leading projects as an Account Manager when appropriate.

Skills Required :

Experience & Education :

A four-year degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, Electronics, or related field, or equivalent military training, plus four+ years of applicable experience, including quality system / pharmaceutical experience, is required.

PCI serves the pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, and clinical research industries nationwide, with personnel trained in cGMP / GLP standards and knowledgeable about FDA, EPA, and ISO / IEC 17025 : 2017 guidelines.
