About the Role :

Our kennel technicians care for boarding dogs and cats, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being throughout their stay. Compassion for animals and their owners is a must, as is a strong work ethic and positive attitude.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Build and maintain positive, professional relationships with clients and team members.
  • Arrive on time and reliably for scheduled shifts.
  • Feed, exercise, and provide enrichment for boarded animals.
  • Clean and sanitize dog runs and cat condos.
  • Check pets in and out of boarding, engaging positively with their owners.
  • Administer medications to boarded animals as directed.
  • Perform laundry duties (lots of towels and blankets!).
  • Bathe dogs and perform basic grooming tasks such as brush-outs.
  • Conduct daily cleaning and light maintenance in the boarding area and throughout the hospital.

Please note : You should expect to spend the majority of your time in the boarding area.

Schedule & Benefits :

Part-Time Positions :

  • Typically 2–3 weekdays per week, with alternating Saturdays and weekend comeback hours.
  • Eligible for benefits after a 90-day probationary period, including :
  • Pet care discounts.

  • Uniform allowance.
  • Part-time is defined as a regular schedule of 63 hours or less per bi-weekly pay period.
  • Full-Time Positions :

  • Typically 4 weekdays per week, with alternating Saturdays and weekend comeback hours.
  • Eligible for benefits after a 90-day probationary period, including :
  • Paid designated holidays.

  • 75% employer-paid health insurance.
  • Pet care discounts.
  • Uniform allowance.
  • Paid time off begins after 1 year of employment.
  • Continuing education is encouraged and supported.
  • Full-time is defined as a regular schedule of 64 hours or more per bi-weekly pay period.

    Boarding That Feels Like Home

    Our boarding facility is designed for comfort and safety—with separate areas for cats and dogs, including a quiet room for small dog boarders. Our team knows the pets and their owners personally, making the experience as stress-free and loving as possible. We require all boarders to be up to date on vaccines and have a current negative fecal exam, ensuring a clean, healthy environment—especially important for our real grass backyard play area.

    Though we don’t offer full grooming services, we do provide brush-outs and baths by request. And because the boarding area is connected directly to the hospital, any medical needs or concerns are immediately addressed by our veterinary team.
