Salary Range : $135,000 - $175,000 (DOE)

Our team works primarily on-site, fostering collaboration and mentorship across all levels. We serve a diverse client base, including individuals, partnerships, S-Corps, C-Corps, and non-profits, spanning a wide range of industries.

Position Overview

We're seeking an experienced  Tax Manager  with a strong background in public accounting and tax compliance. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a small firm setting, enjoys working directly with clients, and is looking to take ownership of complex tax engagements. The ideal candidate will be a licensed CPA or EA and have a proven track record managing tax workflows and mentoring junior staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the preparation and review of federal, state, and local tax returns (1040, 1120, 1120S, 1065).
  • Oversee tax compliance and planning for a broad range of clients, including individuals and businesses across multiple industries.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of tax professionals, providing technical guidance and review support.
  • Conduct tax research and stay current on federal and state tax law changes.
  • Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize client outcomes.
  • Collaborate directly with clients to address tax-related questions and provide proactive advisory services.
  • Support audit processes and respond to tax authority inquiries as needed.

Qualifications

  • Active CPA or EA license required.
  • Minimum 5 years of recent public accounting experience with a focus on tax compliance.
  • Strong technical knowledge of individual, corporate, and partnership taxation.
  • Experience working with diverse client portfolios and industries.
  • Proficiency in tax software (e.g., ProSystem fx, Lacerte, or similar) and QuickBooks.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a collaborative environment.
