Security Guard - Distribution Entry Screener

As a Security Guard - Distribution Entry Screener in Hagerstown, MD, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more.

As a Screener at a logistics and distribution location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, helping to deter security-related incidents while maintaining a visible presence. Your role involves conducting routine patrols and providing outstanding customer service and communication to everyone on site. DayTime Tue 12 : 00 AM - 08 : 00 AM Wed 12 : 00 AM - 08 : 00 AM Thur 12 : 00 AM - 08 : 00 AM Fri 12 : 00 AM - 08 : 00 AM Sat 12 : 00 AM - 08 : 00 AM

What You'll Do :

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities :

  • Conduct screening of personnel, packages, and vehicles entering or exiting the logistics and distribution location, following established procedures and site-specific guidelines.
  • Provide customer service by responding to inquiries, assisting with directions, and addressing client or visitor needs in a professional manner.
  • Carry out security-related procedures as directed by Allied Universal and site management, including monitoring access points and verifying credentials.
  • Assist with the handling of incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following site protocols and escalating issues as needed.
  • Document observations, incidents, and security-related activities as required, maintaining accurate and thorough records.
  • Support emergency response activities, such as evacuations or medical situations, according to site-specific policies.
  • Work collaboratively with client personnel and Allied Universal team members to help maintain a secure environment at the logistics and distribution location.

    • Minimum Requirements :

  • A Security Professional Guard Card is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and / or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
