Job descriptionUnit Type : Acute Care Dialysis (Inpatient + ICU Support) Facilities : Bryan & College Station campuses (approx. 16 minutes apart) Floating : First to float between both campuses as needed Prescreen Requirement : PRN work through an outside agency is acceptable. Beds : Dialysis Suite (number varies by day / treatment load) Nurse-to-Patient Ratios : 1 : 1 (ICU treatments) Common Diagnoses : Acute Renal Failure Peritoneal Dialysis patients Treatment Settings : ICU (1 : 1 dialysis care) BLS ACLS NIHSS General acute care dialysis competencies AVF / AVG cannulation and CVC access Recognition and management of dialysis complications / emergencies Peritoneal dialysis initiation, termination, and site / catheter care Titration : Heparin only Common Set-Rate Drips : Cardizem (Diltiazem) Dobutamine Dopamine Milrinone Telemetry : Monitor techs read strips ICU patients are monitored at bedside and central stations RT Equipment : Managed by ICU RNs and RT Charge Nurse : Present (assignment status not specified) Nurse Aides / PCTs : None assigned Shift Length : 12-hour shifts Weekend Requirement : Every other Saturday (max) Holiday Requirement : Rotated with core staff Call / Standby : Every other Sunday (max)
