Job DescriptionResident Aide to provide safe and supportive care to our residents. This critical role involves direct support, crisis intervention, conflict resolution, and ensuring the overall security and cleanliness of our facility. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about ending homelessness and comfortable working with diverse populations, including formerly incarcerated individuals, those experiencing substance abuse, and/or mental illness.
Key Responsibilities Include: - Provide professional, compassionate care and advocacy for all residents.
- Patrol grounds regularly and monitor entrance/departure of visitors to ensure premises security.
- Provide general front desk support, answer phones, and perform clerical duties.
- Mediate conflicts and de-escalate tenants using a harm reduction and trauma-informed care approach.
- Respond promptly to emergencies (e.g., health or mental health crises), contact proper authorities, and administer Basic First Aid/Naloxone if necessary.
- Complete all daily logs, manage sign-in sheets, and generate incident reports.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the facility and assist with house laundry and room turnovers.
Job RequirementsJob Qualifications: - Education: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent (Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or a related field preferred).
- Experience: At least 1 year of experience in a caregiver role (e.g., Resident Aide, Home Health Aide) or a related field, specifically working with homeless or low-income individuals. Experience in dealing with substance abuse and mental health is desired.
- Other Requirements:
- Valid California driver's license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation for travel between worksites is required.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule to include evenings, weekends, and holidays at multiple sites.
- Ability to obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid Certification.
Skills & Mindset: - Exceptional ability to connect and engage with diverse populations.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and advocacy skills.
- Knowledge of Trauma-Informed Care, Motivational Interviewing, and Harm Reduction Models preferred.
- Must be focused, confident, and observant with excellent organizational skills.
- Bilingual: Spanish/English is a plus, but not required.
Additional Information Pay range $17-87-$85.00
