Department : Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)

Schedule : Full-Time, Monday–Friday

About The Role

Baylor Scott & White Health is hiring a Pediatric ICU Nurse Manager (RN) to lead our dedicated PICU team at McLane Children's Hospital in Temple, TX . This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse with ICU or PICU background to step into a leadership role and make a direct impact on patient care, staff development, and clinical excellence.

Responsibilities

As a Nurse Manager – PICU , you will :

  • Lead, mentor, and support a team of registered nurses and clinical staff in a pediatric intensive care setting.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and patient-centered work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with nursing standards, hospital policies, and accreditation requirements.
  • Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives and patient safety strategies.
  • Support staff education, clinical growth, and professional development.
  • Manage department operations, including staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to deliver outstanding pediatric care.

Qualifications

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
  • Minimum 3 years of nursing experience; ICU / PICU leadership experience strongly preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

    • Preferred :

  • National specialty certification (or willingness to obtain within 2 years).
  • Experience managing staff in an acute care or pediatric critical care environment.
