Role Summary : This position is a member of M Financial’s Back Office Solutions team, which provides outsourced case management and operational support to Member Firms. The person in this position focuses on delivering seamless experience to clients and Member Firms by managing underwriting processes and ensuring compliance with industry standards. On behalf of the Member Firm, this position serves as a client advocate through direct client and producer interactions, requirement procurement, carrier collaboration, and providing experience-based insight.
Responsibilities :
- Provide insurance case management to Member Firms from underwriting assessment through policy procurement, including obtaining evidence, application preparation, underwriting, and policy delivery.
- Drive a world class client experience while working directly with the client, on the firm’s behalf, as a liaison between the agent, underwriter, vendors, and additional parties.
- Pre-screen client’s overall insurability to order required underwriting evidence, provide a carrier or rate class recommendation, and prepare the client’s insurance application (Internal underwriting support available for larger cases or complex medical history)
- Support the Broker Dealer process by assembling required forms, reviewing responses for accuracy, managing submissions, and recording initial journal entries.
- Coordinate with underwriting teams to work through New Business and Underwriting challenges
- Review writing producer’s licensing and contracting to ensure they are authorized to solicit business
- Develop, document, maintain, and improve processes and procedures
- Work with teams within the organization to support operational efficiencies
- Collaborate with team to develop training for junior Case Managers as the department grows
- Partner with M Underwriting, Carriers, and Member Firms to promote best practices for Back Office
- Maintain subject matter expertise and industry knowledge of specific insurance carrier guidelines, policies, and business practices related to New Business and Underwriting processes
- Contribute to projects, strategic initiatives, or other duties as directed
Required Qualifications :
Minimum of 7 years’ case management and / or life underwriting experience in a firm or brokerage environmentDemonstrates an anticipatory mindset, proactively identifying potential issues and implementing solutions before they ariseProven ability to work with high-net-worth (HNW) individuals and their advisors with the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism.Ability to interpret and transpose key documents such as financial statements, trust documents, medical exams, etc.Experience focused on the high-net-worth (HNW) market and efficient handling of smaller cases, variable business and assisting with Broker Dealer forms, and supporting PPLI, premium finance, or global citizen casesAdvanced expertise in application preparation, maintaining exceptional accuracy and compliance with data and form requirementsProven ability to manage multiple producers’ new business needsStrong understanding of insurance products, concepts, and terminology; familiarity with common medical conditions, terminology, and underwriting considerations across multiple carriersComfortable making recommendations based on published carrier guidelinesSkilled in evaluating medical evidence to ensure completeness and to identify required next steps in case progression.Knowledge and service skills to guide clients through each step of the insurance life cycleProven experience in providing consultative, proactive experiences to agents and clientsExceptional customer service and interpersonal skills; excellent oral and written communication skillsStrong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage competing tasks and deadlinesProven analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skillsDemonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity and drive success in an innovative environmentJob Conditions & Environment :
This position is based on-site at our office in Uptown at the Quad in Dallas, TX and in-person presence is preferred to support collaboration and business needs, with the flexibility to work one day per week remotely.
