The Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Generative AI science team is responsible for growing OCI's Generative AI, Agent and Analytics services.

Our goal is to build foundational technologies and enable customers to apply AI to solve their business problems with Oracle's assistance and expertise in Generative AI and Analytics. In this role, you will have an opportunity to work with teams of applied scientists, engineers, and product managers to deliver high quality services backed by Generative AI models and Analytics solutions that delight our customers with the confidence that their data is safe and protected.

We are seeking an exceptional applied scientist to work on innovative Generative AI & Analytics modeling research and development efforts. As a Senior Principal Applied Scientist in Generative AI Science team, you will be architecting, building and deploying cutting-edge, high-quality AI models and solutions at scale. You will work with a team of world-class scientists in exploring new frontiers of Generative AI and collaborate with cross-functional teams including software engineers and product managers to deploy these globally for real-world enterprise use-cases at the largest scale. You will play a key role in shaping the future of Generative AI & Analytics at Oracle and across the industry. Your contributions will be pivotal in delivering our new Generative AI-powered services for large-scale enterprise customers.

Responsibilities

Responsibilties :

Research and Development : Conduct in-depth research on conversational Agentic AI systems, from design and development to evaluation.

Team Leadership : Build and mentor a high-performing team of scientists and engineers.

Collaboration : Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate GenAI, Agentic, and conversational capabilities into various applications and products.

Innovation : Identify new opportunities for conversational AI, Agentic AI, Analytics, and related technologies.

Stay Updated : Maintain a deep understanding of industry trends and advancements in the above fields.

Qualifications & Experience :

PhD Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Linguistics, or a related field

with a dissertation, thesis or final project centered on Machine Learning or Deep

Learning with 10+ years relevant experience is preferred; Alternatively, Master's degree in

any of the above fields, with 12+ years relevant experience.

Strong publication record, including as a lead author in top-tier conferences or journals.

Extensive experience in deep learning, NLP, and Agentic AI.

Proven track record of leading research and development projects.

Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms and architectures.

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Strong leadership and communication abilities.

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only

US : Hiring Range in USD from : $120,100 to $251,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Paid time off : Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.

Paid sick leave : 72 hours of paid sick leave upon date of hire. Refreshes each calendar year. Unused balance will carry over each year up to a maximum cap of 112 hours.
