Burrow Global is seeking to hire two PSV Field Data Collection Specialist for a 12-month + assignment with a chemical manufacturing facility in Deer Park, TX.
Engineers or Piping Designers will be considered for this position.
This role focuses on field data collection for Process safety valve (PSV), tank, pump, and related equipment . The successful candidate will gather nameplate data, sketch isometric drawings of PSV inlet / outlet piping, and utilize the organization's engineering data vault and asset management systems to locate drawings and equipment information. When information is incomplete, you will contact equipment vendors to request missing datasheets. And experienced piping designer with solid field experience can fill this role.
Candidates note : This is an in-plant assignment . It is not an office position . THIS IS NOT AN IT JOB. Candidates must be in excellent physical condition with the ability to walk, climb, bend and stand around process equipment in chemical manufacturing environment in all weather conditions.
Key Responsibilities :
- Collect and verify mechanical and piping data in the field, with emphasis on PSVs, tanks, and pumps.
- Extract and record nameplate data (model, size, set pressure, tag numbers, performance data, serial numbers) from equipment in the field.
- Create accurate isometric sketches of PSV inlet and outlet piping, including flange connections, pipe sizes, fittings, and supports.
- Experience utilizing an engineering document vault system and asset management tools to locate drawings, equipment specifications, and related documentation.
- Locate and review existing drawings and equipment information, update data records accordingly.
- Proactively contact equipment vendors to request datasheets, performance curves, and additional documentation when information is missing or outdated.
- Maintain data integrity, perform quality checks, and ensure documentation aligns with project / maintenance requirements.
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, and field personnel to resolve data gaps and ensure accurate as-built information.
- Assist with general piping design support as needed, drawing on field experience and knowledge of codes and standards.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements during fieldwork.
Qualifications : Required :
3+ years of field experience related to piping, mechanical systems, or safety valves (PSVs) in industrial settings (chemical, petrochemical, or similar industries).Demonstrated ability to collect, interpret, and document field data for PSVs, tanks, pumps, and related equipment.Proficiency in creating isometric drawings or the ability to learn quickly; experience with piping design tools is a plus (e.g., AutoCAD, CADWorx, or equivalent).Familiarity with nameplate data concepts : set pressure, relieving rate, capacity, material, temperature, and service.Strong data management skills; comfortable working with asset management systems and databases.Experience using and navigating Vault or equivalent asset management / document management systems.Excellent communication skills; ability to liaise with vendors to obtain datasheets and documentation.Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of working independently in the field as well as in an office environment.Preferred :
Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Piping, or Chemical Engineering or a related field.Prior experience as a data collection engineer or mid-level piping designer or field designer with hands-on site exposure.Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API) related to PSVs and piping.Experience with lifting / rigging, safety practices, and field data collection software.Active TWIC Card is requiredNo Per diem or relocation assistance is available on this position.
