About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Hours per Shift : 12 hours

Experience : Minimum of 2 years of current Med-Surg, PACU, and / or post-operative care experience required.

License : Valid State License (Iowa)

Certifications : BLS

Must-Have :

• Tele strip reading experience required.
• Surgical care experience with specified patient types.
• Experience with PCA's, epidurals, chest tubes, and CBIs.

Description :

As a member of the interdisciplinary team, you will contribute professional nursing knowledge and skills in the provision and management of care to patients through the application of the nursing process.

You will care for post-operative surgical patients in a 28-bed unit.

Nurses are trained to read telemetry strips and manage cardiac drips such as Amiodarone, Cardizem, Lasix, and Insulin.

State-of-the-art bedside monitors are available in every patient room to facilitate patient care.

You may float across other similar medical-surgical units.

There will be a requirement to complete an on-site class on identifying cardiac dysrhythmias, which includes passing a test.

An annual educational module will be required, which has embedded test questions.

This position does not pertain to PACU duties.

You will be required to work every other weekend, including holiday rotations.

You will need to be flexible regarding working during specified holiday periods.

You should have a supervisory performance evaluation / reference from within the past two years.
