Electrical Test EngineerPosition Summary: Lead and perform troubleshooting, testing, and inspection of electrical apparatus and power distribution systems. Some technical supervision required.
Key Responsibilities - Test and maintain low and medium voltage switchgear systems (up to 15 kV).
- Troubleshoot electrical systems, calibrate simple relays, and use load recording instruments.
- Conduct short circuit and protective device coordination studies.
- Prepare detailed project reports and manage job billing.
- Develop accurate job proposals, cost estimates, and scopes of work.
- Support business development and ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
Qualifications - Education/Experience:
- BSEE/BSME (entry level), or
- Technical school/military equivalent + 3 years of experience, or
- High school + 4 years of related experience.
- Knowledge of NEC, OSHA, NFPA standards, and NETA certification.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Internet research, and computer-controlled test equipment.
- Strong understanding of electrical power systems and switchgear testing.
- Excellent communication, organization, and analytical skills.
- Valid driver's license and ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
- Willingness to travel (50%) and work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
