Mainframe Application Developer

Overview

GovCIO is seeking a skilled Mainframe Application Developer to maintain, enhance, and update critical applications that support the background investigation processes for the Defense Counterintelligence Security Agency (DCSA). You will provide architectural, developmental, and cybersecurity support for High Value Assets (HVAs) within the background investigation system. This position will be primarily remote with periodic site visits required in the Washington DC Metro area (DC / MD / VA).

Responsibilities

As a part of the development team, you will engage in the operational support and maintenance of mission-critical applications. Your responsibilities will include :

• Collaborating with customers and stakeholders to gather and understand user requirements.
• Utilizing Atlassian tools, including JIRA, for efficient requirements tracking.
• Designing effective solutions that address customer needs.
• Interacting and supporting other team members in the development process.
• Developing software using Natural with ADABAS.
• Maintaining software processes for file transfers using Connect Direct.
• Creating and managing JCL for batch processing.
• Developing and monitoring queues and flows using IBM MQ.
• Proactively identifying potential solutions to meet customer and project needs.

Qualifications

This role requires a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
