Responsibilities Position is in a hospital Labor & Delivery unit with antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patient care Patient ratios are 1 : 1 for both day and night shifts, with assignments based on patient acuity following AWHONN staffing standards Unit features 11 labor rooms, 5 triage rooms, 15 postpartum rooms, and 2 flex rooms Average daily census is 7-10 with approximately 200-300 births per month Work schedule is night shift (3x12 hours, 18 : 45–07 : 15), with 4-5 weekend shifts each 6-week schedule and specific Friday / Sunday shift requirements On-call required : 2 shifts per 6-week schedule Floating to the postpartum unit for mother-baby care may be required Uses PeriWatch fetal monitoring application and Phillips Avalon fetal monitors EPIC charting system is used Care for laboring, antepartum, and postpartum patients, assisting with both low and high-risk deliveries and providing comprehensive mother-baby care Will not be required to work OB triage Orientation includes required online modules and equipment training to be completed before the first shift Candidates must complete all training modules, including infusion pump and glucometer use, prior to the start date Drug screening and recent lab work required for consideration First-time travelers are not accepted for this position No more than 7 days of requested time off will be accommodated during the contract No travel partners accepted for this assignment Scrub and dress code details to be provided during orientation Requirements Active MO or compact RN license required; must be in hand prior to start BLS, NRP, and FHM certifications required Minimum 3 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience required, with at least 1 year in specialty in the past 12 months and no gap longer than 90 days Proficient in antepartum, labor, delivery, immediate postpartum, and OB triage procedures Strong skills in EFM, magnesium sulfate administration, blood product administration, IV management, high-risk delivery assistance, C-section recovery, neonatal resuscitation, and lactation support Must be comfortable with EPIC; EPIC training / test-out required prior to orientation Ability to perform specialized L&D procedures including IUPC placement, telemetry interpretation, high-risk OB management, and OB code team participation Two professional references from a supervisor or charge RN within the past year required Home address must be at least 75 miles from the facility; locals not accepted Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-632940.
