Overview
Beyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) has an exciting opportunity for a senior level Electrical Systems and Controls Engineer supporting the Test Operations and Sustainment contract, at Arnold Engineering Development Complex at Arnold AFB, TN. This Electrical Engineer will be working as a member of an integrated team responsible for maintaining and sustaining the United States Air Force Test Operations and Sustainment efforts.

Job Summary
The successful candidate for this Senior Electrical Systems and Controls Engineer role will be able to work independently, solve complex technical problems with minimal supervision, effectively lead others as a work performer and a coach, and place emphasis on rapid continual professional development of engineers to handle a breadth of tasks for plant operations. The candidate should demonstrate the ability to work effectively with others and manage multiple projects simultaneously, effectively plan, organize, and direct the work of teams consisting of multiple stakeholders to conduct comprehensive verification efforts and successfully execute problem resolution when required.
Job Duties :
Some of the specific duties of an electrical systems and controls engineer include (this is NOT an exhaustive list) :
Develop a fundamental understanding of a wide variety of customer requirements and develop successful solutions
Serve as Senior Engineer to lead planning and execution activities (estimates, hazards analysis, support SOC development, plan for future issues / foresee problems and resolve) for test and associated test equipmentSystems configuration design including conceptual and detailed sketches and layouts, specifications and design calculationsServe as a mentor and provide technical guidance in trouble shooting and causal analysis for engineering problems in execution of work in complex test operations; engage with Staff Engineer and Senior Staff Engineer personnel across the complex on technical issues and encourage engagement of engineering staff with Staff and Senior Staff Engineer(s)Instrumentation and Control System design, development, maintenance, and / or operations supportRespond when systems malfunction, troubleshooting and directing corrective maintenance activities (or calling in the appropriate systems engineer(s) for additional support) ensuring a timely return to serviceSystem verification and validation in preparation for test executionUpdate and maintain system documentation for systems of responsibilityWork with multiple organizations / stakeholders such as design engineering, fabrication shops, DoD client, and other contractorsReview design documents of equipment manufacturers or subcontractors and prepare comments and recommendationsDevelop with Asset Health Assurance personnel advanced maintenance plansConduct and write up system safety hazard analyses and write clear work instructions for operation and maintenanceAssess and communicate risk to stakeholdersDevelop estimates for improvement projectsWork with planners, schedulers, and craft supervisors to safely plan and execute projects including maintenance work, upgrades, and test projectsAssist craft personnel with troubleshooting and oversee their work; provide technical leadership and guidanceIt is a condition of employment to wear company issued Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy.Perform other related duties as required.Basic Qualifications :
BS degree in electrical engineering from an accredited college or university plus a minimum of 10 years' relevant electrical engineering experienceMust be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Secret level security clearance and access to the AEDC local area networkDue to Air Force Security requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required for employment at AEDCPreferred Qualifications
Prior experience at Arnold Engineering Development ComplexA minimum of 5 years progressive and relevant engineering experience including 2 years in systems maintenance, sustainment and operations and related engineering experienceCurrently serving as an effective mentor to one or more individualsStrong interpersonal skills, strong written and oral communications skills, and confidence leading small teamsWork experience in dealing with electrical systems or electrical components of mechanical systemsAbility to perform in a dynamic working environment with flexibility to meet mission demandsStrong organizational skills to track and facilitate progress on projectsDemonstrated proactiveness and initiate to drive to resultsExhibits strong level of technical curiosity and desire to seek understandingParticipates in and fosters a work environment that is based upon openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfactionActive Department of Defense Secret Security ClearanceWhat We Offer
