Payroll & Equity Plan Specialist

Location : Morgantown, WV (Hybrid - 3 days onsite)

Employment Type : Full Time

A growing organization with operations across the Appalachian region is seeking an experienced Payroll & Equity Plan Specialist to join its corporate team. This role is integral to ensuring accurate payroll processing and effective administration of the company's equity programs. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, maintains high attention to detail, and is comfortable handling sensitive and confidential information.

About the Opportunity

This position supports a dynamic and collaborative finance and HR team. You will manage end-to-end payroll processing and lead the administration of multiple equity plans for employees across several locations. The role requires strong technical expertise, a solid understanding of regulatory compliance, and the ability to work with cross-functional teams.

What You Will Be Doing

Payroll Administration

Process full-cycle payroll for all employees accurately and on schedule using ADP Workforce Now.

Stay current on federal, state, and local payroll tax laws and compliance requirements.

Review and validate quarterly and year-end reporting, including W-2s; support internal and external audits.

Manage payroll deductions, benefits, 401(k) contributions, and wage garnishments in coordination with third-party partners.

Maintain employee records in the HRIS, ensuring accurate processing of hires, terminations, promotions, and status changes.

Reconcile timekeeping records and collaborate with managers to ensure accuracy of hours, overtime, and PTO.

Partner with accounting to upload monthly payroll journal entries and prepare necessary accruals.

Serve as the primary point of contact for employee payroll inquiries.

Equity Program Administration

Administer all equity plans, including RSUs, PSUs, and stock options.

Process new grants, vesting events, exercises, releases, forfeitures, and cancellations.

Maintain and reconcile data within the third-party equity management system.

Respond to employee questions regarding equity plans with clarity and professionalism.

What You Bring

Bachelor's degree

5+ years of payroll experience and 2+ years of public company equity administration .

Proficiency with ADP and experience with equity management platforms.

Strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax reporting, and compliance requirements.

Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and data integrity.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable engaging employees at all organizational levels.
