Position Overview

Manufacturing Operations Manager – International Space Station (ISS) team at Kennedy Space Center, FL. The First Line Manager is responsible for overseeing a high-performing technician team in a manufacturing and repair depot environment. This role involves ensuring production goals are met, quality standards are maintained, and safety protocols are followed while fostering a collaborative team environment.

Position Responsibilities

  • Manages employees performing activities in multiple manufacturing disciplines.
  • Develops and executes business plans, policies and procedures and develops organizational and technical strategies.
  • Acquires resources, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
  • Manages, develops and motivates employees.
  • Collaborates with other functional teams to develop and implement strategies to improve production efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance overall performance.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience)

  • 3+ years of experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems common image (MESci).
  • 3+ years of experience developing and implementing process improvements.
  • 3+ years of experience leading and implementing manufacturing plans, developing schedules and budgets.
  • 1+ years of experience with team building, developing and motivating employees in a formal or informal capacity.
  • 1+ years of formal or informal leadership or management experience working in a manufacturing or repair depot environment.
  • Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills / Experience)

  • Experience with Quality Management Systems and / or Boeing Production System (BPS).
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • An active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)
  • Shift, Travel & Relocation

  • Primarily first shift; additional shift requirements may apply.
  • Travel up to 10% of the time.
  • Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit; candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
  • Total Rewards & Compensation

    Competitive base pay and variable compensation opportunities. Pay is based on candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. Summary pay range : $96,900 – $131,100 USD.
