CATERING AND EVENTS LEAD

Provo, Utah, United States Full-Time

Position Overview:

This position directs events and catering teams to create meaningful and impactful

experiences, from small, everyday events to large-scale, multi-day events and festivals.

Qualifications:

• 5-10 years of catering and event experience required
• Previous supervisory experience required
• Higher education in hospitality or events a plus

First Month

Purpose:

• Proactively building and developing relationships with HC Downtown and HC Living team members.
• Seek to understand the current objectives and vision for Jupiter Culinary and Hobble Creek Living.
• Working with leadership, build working relationships with the following groups, HC Square, Bonhomous, and Conflux.
• Learn team and meeting structures and learn how to Integrate their role accountabilities.
• Review and Internalize the Catering and Events Lead Job description and accountability.
• Observe event vision and execution processes
• Attend all events lead by catering and events
• Become familiar with event and catering budgets

Months 2 - 6

Purpose: Take on the work and responsibilities of leaders and team members to lighten the load of the event

• Become familiar with the event and catering inventory storage and processes.
• Start taking on responsibilities that are connected to their role.
• Lead out on execution for a festival event
• Contributing to event vision design
• Building and managing vendor relationships for catering and events.
• Start to understand the needs of different units and circles and how our events contribute to creating a meaningful workplace.
• Become friends with employees from all units.

Months 6 – 12

Purpose: Manage the execution of experiences through events and catering

• Managing the execution and budget of at least one festival
• Takes full ownership of the building and maintains team growth and unity.

1 year and beyond

Purpose: Begin to participate in the creation of experiences in all events and catering

• Managing the execution of all events
• Managing the budget for all events and catering
• Managing all event and catering storage and processes
• Leading the evaluation and improvements of all event and catering processes
• Prioritize supporting leader participation in events and catering
• Understand the Wavetroinx and products in a way to better support

Working Conditions

• Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds.
• This work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
• Work may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and potential loud noises.
