Become a vital member of a dynamic multidisciplinary R&D team focused on developing next-generation life-sustaining technology for patients. Your role will emphasize the external patient controller and various subsystems.
Your Responsibilities
- Design and analyze electrical subsystems, including motor and magnetic bearings, percutaneous leads, controllers, and peripherals such as batteries and power supplies.
- Transform design inputs into clear system requirements and develop comprehensive specifications and testing methods for components, integrations, and entire systems.
- Plan and execute verification and validation (V&V) activities, creating efficient testing procedures, defining sample sizes and conditions, and documenting findings.
- Construct and oversee test fixtures and specialized tooling; coordinate third-party testing to ensure thorough evaluations.
- Maintain certifications for test equipment and ensure consistency across all testing protocols.
- Collaborate across electrical, mechanical, and software teams to assess feasibility and implement risk controls.
- Conduct risk analyses and implement corrective actions such as Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and hazard assessments.
- Produce high-quality documentation including requirements, design documents, and work instructions, ensuring compliance with regulatory design controls.
Your Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.1-2+ years of hands-on experience in designing, prototyping, and testing electronic circuits, components, and subsystems.Experience in both digital and analog development, with strong lab skills using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and multimeters.Solid understanding of EMC / EMI requirements, design principles, and test processes.Familiarity with the medical device development lifecycle and associated design controls (Class II / III).Knowledge of relevant standards : IEC 60601-1 and its collaterals, ISO 14971, IEC 62304, ISO 13485, ISO 14708-1 / -5.Highly organized, proactive, and adept at thriving in a fast-paced, cross-functional R&D environment.
