Our Business Services team is here to make sure that Data and Digital thrive like a well-oiled machine. We're the ones who help set the course, gather resources, and make sure things run smoothly - think of us as the ultimate planners and communicators, making sure everyone is on the same page!

We're like the superhero support squad for Data and Digital. From keeping everyone in the loop through top-notch communication (we're buddies with the Communication and Engagement team) to making sure the right people are in the right places (our friends in People and Culture are our partners here), we've got it all covered.

We've got a handle on best practices, training, and making sure everyone's got the right skills. Plus, we're the guardians of risk management and privacy – keeping things safe and sound in the world of Data and Digital is our specialty.

Mōu | About you

As our Group Manager D&D Risk, you will lead and manage the Risk and Business Continuity functions for Data & Digital. You will oversee the creation of Data & Digital Risk Management frameworks that align with our Te Whatu Ora policies and cater to the unique needs of our Data & Digital domain. You will pioneer consistent risk and business continuity practices that will extend their positive influence nationally.

You will be the maestro of sharing insights and reports on risk and business continuity topics with our wider business community, and your contributions will be vital in ensuring that our risk management strategy is a perfect match for the scale and scope of our business. Your leadership skills will shine as you lead and endorse the Data & Digital Risk framework, tools, and processes to guarantee that our risk management practices align with the broader organisational risk policies.

Additionally, you will be responsible for keeping track of Enterprise and Strategic risk registers for Data & Digital, overseeing risk management processes for both functional and project-related risks, and providing guidance and expertise to the Data & Digital Leadership Team to manage and reduce risks appropriately.

Preference will be given to applications of significantly affected Kaimahi through the change process.

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience

• Minimum 15 years in senior Risk Management and Business Continuity leadership roles. Proven experience in developing and implementing Risk Management and Business Continuity Frameworks in large enterprises.
• Experience with Treasury and Government sector Risk & Assurance requirements.
• Strong knowledge of risk management principles, methodologies, and frameworks. Proficiency in risk assessment techniques and tools.
• Knowledge of relevant public sector risk and compliance requirements.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders (incl. managing teams of specialists, management of remote/hybrid/virtual teams) and the capability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
• Flexibility and adaptability to navigate through ambiguity and drive change.
• Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and quality
• Ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills (advanced written and verbal communications, experience writing reports for Executive and Board audiences).
