Location : North Shore Manufacturing Site
Reports to : Director of Manufacturing, Systems Products
A leading North Shore manufacturer is seeking an experienced Planning Supervisor to support production needs for our expanding systems product lines. This role is pivotal in developing and executing the Master Production Schedule (MPS) to meet customer demand while maintaining optimal inventory levels. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates strong leadership, and brings deep expertise in lean manufacturing, MRP planning, and electro-mechanical assembly operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Production Planning & Execution
- Develop and manage the MPS based on backlog, forecasts, and supply constraints.
- Release work orders using MRP signals and kanban systems to support build plans.
- Monitor actual output vs. plan, identify gaps, and drive corrective actions.
- Collaborate with operations, logistics, purchasing, and shop supervision to meet production goals.
- Team Leadership
- Provide daily supervision and mentorship to a small team of buyer-planners.
- Support S&OP activities across weekly, monthly, and quarterly planning cycles.
- Capacity & Inventory Management
- Analyze capacity and identify risks to operations.
- Work closely with warehouse management to resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Facilitate timely closure of work orders and resolve material transaction issues.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with manufacturing engineers, quality engineers, and supervisors to align on internal and external customer needs.
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) planning and ensure material readiness.
- Procurement & Supplier Management
- Obtain quotes, select suppliers, and manage purchase orders aligned with production schedules.
- Administer MRP and kanban action items to support throughput.
- Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to enhance planning tools and processes.
- Help institute a formal capacity planning framework.
Required Skills & Experience
Proven experience in assembly planning within a complex, electro-mechanical manufacturing environment.Strong command of MRP systems, kanban programs, and lean manufacturing principles.Demonstrated ability to manage large, multilevel Bills of Materials (BOMs) with hundreds of components.Proficiency in Oracle Cloud ERP, Excel, and data mining tools.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Background in contract manufacturing is highly desirable.Experience supporting NPI initiatives is a plus.A highly organized, self-motivated individual with a high energy level.A collaborative team player who fits well within a dynamic operations environment.A strategic thinker who can balance multiple priorities and resolve planning conflicts.Excellent Benenfits and a Bonus plan in additon to annual salary!!
