Obstetrics and Gynecology Physician Job Details

OB / GYN Physician Qualifications

Board Certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology (required for OB / GYN jobs)

Active and unrestricted Maryland physician license

ACLS certification (required)

Minimum 1 year of experience in Obstetrics and Gynecology

Experience with both low and high-risk pregnancies preferred

Proficiency in OB / GYN procedures and emergency consults

Ability to cover GYN, ED consults, and OB patients

Fellowship training in Obstetrics and Gynecology is a plus

Obstetrics and Gynecology Physician Responsibilities

Deliver comprehensive OB / GYN care, including routine and complicated deliveries (vaginal, c-section, breech, multiple births, VBACs)

Perform and interpret OB ultrasounds (Level I / Screening and Level II / Targeted)

Manage high and low-risk pregnancies, including FHR interpretation (NST / CST / FSE) and amniocentesis

Conduct office and minor gynecology procedures (IUD, cystoscopy, colposcopy, cryosurgery, LEEP, etc.)

Perform surgical gynecology (open, laparoscopic, and major operative procedures)

Repair 3rd & 4th degree lacerations

Respond to ED consults and provide in-house coverage for GYN and OB patients

Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
