Under direction of the Site Supervisor, the Senior Recreation Leader performs a variety of activities at a community daycare facility, where he / she is responsible for the planning, coordinating and supervising recreation activities. Work requires the ability to supervise and engage children and serve as on-site manager in the absence of the Site Supervisor. Work requires skills and training in conducting recreation activities. Works in conjunction with the Site Supervisor to develop and expand program activities to meet the needs of the community. Work is subject to regular inspection and review for conformity to established standards and methods.
GENERAL ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Includes the following; other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Assists Site Supervisor in supervising employees in childcare programs. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Agency’s policies and applicable laws.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS :

EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE :
High school diploma / GED required plus two years of experience; college degree in related field with experience and / or training preferred or a combination of training, education and experience that leads to desired abilities.
LANGUAGE SKILLS :
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
REASONING ABILITY :
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
