Role Summary

As a Construction Field Assistant , you will support our field team in delivering exceptional renovation, remodeling, and restoration projects. Reporting to the Field Supervisor / Project Lead, you will assist with on-site tasks, materials handling, quality checks, coordination, and general labor. Your role is critical to ensuring our projects run smoothly, safely, and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist carpenters, masons, electricians, plumbers, and other trades with tasks as needed (measuring, cutting, carrying, positioning, holding, etc.)
  • Load, unload, transport, and stage materials, tools, and equipment safely and efficiently
  • Perform general site cleanup and maintain organized work areas
  • Assist in prepping surfaces (demolition, demolition debris removal, cleaning, basic sanding, protection of existing structures)
  • Hold or support structural elements under supervision
  • Perform basic site measurements, leveling, and layout work under direction
  • Help track inventory and report material shortfalls
  • Communicate effectively with the field team on daily tasks, updates, and safety concerns
  • Follow all safety protocols, wear personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintain clean, hazard-free work zones
  • Assist with documenting progress (photos, notes) and reporting to supervisors
  • Occasionally drive small service vehicles or pick up materials (if properly licensed and approved)

Minimum Qualifications & Desired Attributes

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 1 year of experience in construction, remodeling, or a related field preferred
  • Ability to read basic blueprints, sketches, and layout instructions
  • Physical ability and stamina to lift heavy objects (up to 75 lbs or more), climb ladders, work outdoors in varying weather
  • Basic knowledge of power and hand tools and safe usage
  • Strong reliability, punctuality, self-motivation, and ability to take direction
  • Good communication skills, willingness to learn, and collaborative mindset
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Willingness to travel within the project service area (Monteagle or nearby)
