We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join our client, a growing manufacturing company in Horsham, PA. In this role, you’ll work closely with the Controller to oversee day-to-day financial and accounting operations while helping support our growth through acquisitions. Your expertise in cost accounting, financial reporting, and ERP systems will be key to ensuring accurate and efficient financial processes.
Key Responsibilities :
Prepare and review financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
Oversee general ledger activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and monthly / yearly close processes.
Lead the audit process and fulfill necessary auditor requests.
Supervise a Staff Accountant handling accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR), ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
Perform cost accounting functions, including inventory valuation, cost of goods sold (COGS) analysis, and tracking manufacturing costs.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support decision-making.
Work with various departments to provide insights into manufacturing costs, inventory management, and operational efficiency.
Monitor cash flow, manage bank reconciliations, and maintain fixed asset records.
Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reports as required.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing.
Strong knowledge of ERP systems and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
Proficient in GAAP, cost accounting, and financial reporting.
Hands-on experience with inventory reconciliation, COGS analysis, and manufacturing cost accounting.
Proven ability to handle month-end closings, audits, and financial statement preparation.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills and a proven ability to work collaboratively with various teams.
Knowledge of payroll processing and tax compliance (a plus).
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
Preferred Experience :
Background in the electronics manufacturing industry.
Advanced ERP experience for manufacturing operations.
Experience managing or mentoring accounting staff.
