CTG is seeking to fill a Application Architect-Java and Web Technologies opening for our client in Jersey City, NJ.

Location : Jersey City, NJ

Duration : 12 months

W2 Only, No C2C

Description :

An Application Architect specializing in Java & Web Technologies is capable of visualizing the entire application as a cohesive system, understanding all interactions between system components, and defining limitations and requirements for source code in Java and related frameworks. They are experts in selecting, defining, and enforcing consistent technology standards, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

The Java Solutions Architect should be proficient in Java, JEE, JDBC, Java design patterns, architectural patterns, Dependency Injection, Java Collections, threads, concurrency, Java servlets, JSPs, Struts, JSF, Spring, Hibernate, EJB, JPA, JAX-RS, and JAX-WS. Additionally, the candidate should be familiar with SOA, Web Services, Legacy Platform Integration, Application Servers such as WebLogic / WebSphere, and Clustering Architectures. The role also requires experience with DevOps methodologies, Agile practices, and Test Driven Development.

Duties :

Design and oversee the architecture of enterprise-level Java applications and web solutions.

Ensure scalability, performance, and security of application solutions.

Define technical standards and frameworks, ensuring consistent development practices.

Collaborate with stakeholders to align technology solutions with business needs.

Provide technical leadership and mentoring to development teams.

Evaluate and integrate new tools, technologies, and frameworks into solution architectures.

Support the full software development lifecycle using Agile and DevOps best practices.

Skills :

Strong expertise in Java & Web Technologies.

Hands-on proficiency with frameworks such as Spring, Hibernate, Struts, and JSF.

Knowledge of enterprise integration patterns, SOA, and Web Services.

Experience with application servers (WebLogic / WebSphere).

Strong understanding of concurrency, multithreading, and performance optimization.

Familiarity with Clustering Architectures, Legacy Integration, and modern DevOps tools.

Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and leadership skills.

Experience :

Minimum 3 years of professional experience in Java / JEE development and architecture.

Demonstrated success in designing and implementing large-scale enterprise solutions.

Previous experience as a Solutions Architect or Application Architect is strongly preferred.

Experience working in Agile environments and with Test Driven Development.

Education :

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (Master’s preferred).

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $90,000 to $105,000 / yr. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
