Function / Position Summary
The primary responsibility of the Programmer and Analyst is to monitor and maintain the student information system (SIS). This includes writing queries and reports as needed for staff. Making modifications and updates as approved by the Curriculum Applications Manager.
Job Duties / Responsibilities
- Obtain user feedback and requirements as related to customizations.
- Design, implement and test desired customizations.
- Provide programming support for student system helpdesk.
- Run ad hoc SQL queries upon request.
- Verify and compare State SIS numbers against the Districts SIS numbers.
- Create / Upload data files for the State SIS system.
- Assist with student attendance and grade processing.
- Other duties as assigned within the scope of the job.
- Seek to implement new technologies.
- Keep programming skills current.
Education
Bachelors Degree in Information Services or equivalent training and experience.Experience with Relational Databases Oracle and SQLServer.Experienced SQL programmer.Experience with object-oriented programming and Web Development.Experience with gathering end user requirements and creating desired output.Experience / Knowledge
Excellent understanding of Relational Databases.Programming in SQL.Web Development.Excellent Communication Skills.Physical Demands
Ability to work in a very fast paced and stressful environment.Ability to work on a computer for a major portion of the work day.Terms of Employment
This is a 12-month work year position.Salary and benefits established by the Board of Education.Salary range for this position is $66,260.00 - $99,391.00. It is typical to hire between the minimum and midpoint (approximately $82,825.50).Seniority level
