Job Summary

UT Southwestern is actively seeking an experienced Carpenter - Door Repair Specialist to join our Hospital Facilities team. We are looking for someone with strong skills in the repair, installation, and maintenance of commercial doors, frames, and hardware, with experience working in hospitals or healthcare environments preferred. This role involves ensuring that all doors including fire-rated, patient room, and automatic doors meet regulatory and safety standards. Works under minimal supervision to provide general level skills in performance of carpentry work.

Work Location : Dallas Campus; assist other UTSW locations as needed.

Shift Requirement : Monday through Friday, 7 : 30 AM to 4 : 00 PM

Experience and Education

Required Education : High School Diploma or vocational school or equivalent

Experience : 3 years skilled or journeyman level experience as a carpenter in a commercial institution or healthcare setting; knowledge of door hardware; proficiency in the use of large power tools (e.g., table saw, circular saw, router, miter saw, etc.)

Preferred Licenses and Certifications : Journeyman Carpenter License
