The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) plays a crucial role in collaborating with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals. This position focuses on delivering anesthesia for a range of medical and surgical procedures, ensuring a holistic approach that meets the physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs of patients and their families.

This position requires availability for in-house call, including off-shifts, weekends, and holidays, as part of a dedicated 24 / 7 core team. This flexibility allows for timely anesthetic and emergency care for our patients. Eligible CRNAs will receive compensation for on-call responsibilities.

Responsibilities :

Qualifications : Education :

Completion of a Certified Nurse Anesthetist Training Program accredited by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists. A current State of Connecticut Nursing License and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensure in the State of Connecticut are required.

Experience :

Preferred experience as a CRNA, but not mandatory. Candidates must be appointed to the Affiliated Medical Staff of a YNHHS Hospital and credentialed through the Medical Staff process. Evidence of current competency must be obtained during this process.

Licensure :

Must hold AANA Certification, Connecticut RN and APRN License, ACLS certification, and DEA registration.

Special Skills :

CRNAs must exhibit strong concentration and the ability to maintain composure in stressful situations, possessing clear communication skills to interact with the surgical team and patients.

Physical Demands :

Ability to perform the physical and cognitive tasks necessary for delivering excellent anesthesia care, including standing for extended periods and lifting patients when needed.
