Job Title : Warehouse and Procurement Assistant
The South Carolina Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities, Office of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities plans, develops, coordinates, and funds services for South Carolinians with intellectual disability and related disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, and similar disability.
Job Responsibilities :
Whitten Regional Center is an Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF-IID) of the South Carolina Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (BHDD), Office of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (OIDD) located in Clinton, SC serving residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Job Responsibilities :
Distributes medical supplies to the necessary departments in order to ensure staff are equipped to maintain a safe and clean area for the consumers. Orders medical supplies from supply requests, assists with inventory, facilitates mail delivery, receipt, and distribution, and assists with deliveries from the warehouse at OIDD-Whitten. Assists in ordering medical supplies from established statewide contracts to include pulling orders each week to fulfill supply request. Assists warehouse and purchasing staff with other supply orders and deliveries on the OIDD-Whitten campus. Performs other warehouse related duties such as loading or unloading trucks. Verifies deliveries. Sends out and receives UPS freight. Serves as backup for the warehouse manager. Receives incoming mail from the US Postal Service in Clinton, SC. Facilitates the daily mail delivery throughout the campus of OIDD-Whitten. Collects, prepares and delivers outgoing mail to local US Post Office daily. Maintains and operates OIDD-Whitten's postage machine to ensure settings are accurate with federal postage rates. Maintains the level of ink needed to complete the needs of the facility. Assists with the inventory process throughout the fiscal and calendar year. Aids in performing annual fiscal year end medical supply inventory. Also, provides assistance with properly handling Surplus Property as needed. Maintains a safe, clean working environment by assisting in keeping postal, supply and warehouse area(s) clean and clutter free. Keeps postal / delivery vehicle clean and reports any issues to the transportation department immediately.

Minimum and Additional Requirements :
Must have a high school diploma or GED, and a valid drivers license. Knowledge of supply practices and procedures. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Working knowledge of postal procedures and regulations to include bulk mailing procedures and / or ability to learn postal policies, regulations and procedures for handling mail. Knowledge for inventory control practices and procedures. Ability to utilize computer and other office equipment to complete job task. General knowledge of State Procurement practices.
