ProSearch is seeking a detail-oriented Temporary Part Time Legal Assistant to support the legal, compliance, and corporate governance functions of a valued client in South Portland. This is a part-time temporary opportunity offering hands-on involvement with contracts, research, litigation support, and internal governance activities. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and enjoys the variety and impact of working across multiple areas of an organization.

Type : Part-time (20-30hrs / wk.), Temporary

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and edit contracts to align with business and regulatory requirements
  • Support litigation and regulatory matters, including organizing case files and preparing legal documents
  • Conduct legal research and compile reports, chronologies, and supporting materials
  • Assist with committee and board activities, including preparing agendas, minutes, and reports
  • Provide administrative support and complete special projects as assigned

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in business or a related field required
  • Minimum of 3 years of Legal Assistant or Paralegal experience preferred
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail and discretion with confidential information
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and able to manage data and documents effectively
  • Well-organized with the ability to manage shifting priorities
