Supervisory Aerial Refueling Technician (Instructor)
The job opportunity is for a SUPERVISORY AERIAL REFUELING TECHNICIAN (INSTRUCTOR) within the NJ 108th National Guard. This vacancy announcement is a Title 32, Excepted Service position. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a first level supervisor over subordinates and as an aircrew member.
Responsibilities include :
- Planning, directing, and managing operational and training matters pertaining to assigned refueling technicians.
- Performing aircrew duties as an aerial refueling technician / instructor in the unit type aircraft.
- Ensuring that operational and training duties comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Developing and providing training for aerial refueling technician instructors and flight examiners.
- Flying as an aircrew member in unit aircraft and performing duties as flight instructor.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Requirements include :
Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.The applicant must be within the military grade(s) listed in this job announcement prior to the effective date of placement into the technician position.Must be able to obtain a Top Secret Clearance within one year of appointment.Qualifications include :
General experience which has provided a general knowledge of aircraft fuel, electrical, and hydraulic systems and components.Specialized experience of at least 30 months in the following :Knowledge of aerial refueling capabilities of KC-46 and aerial refueling data for all authorized receiver aircraft.Ability to communicate orally and in writing to prepare lessons, documents and reports, present training and / or instruction and brief passengers and crews.Knowledge of a wide variety of systems and components critical to the performance of the aircraft such as propulsion, electrical, hydraulic, environmental, etc.Knowledge of navigational operating procedures relative to aerial refueling tracks.Skill to assist the pilot in positioning the tankers for rendezvous with receiver aircraft.Knowledge of the methods of instruction, aircrew training program requirements, procedures and standards of performance.There are no education requirements for this vacancy announcement.Telework is subject to the supervisor / branch chief and Director's approval.
