Physician Billing - Coding Specialist OP Certified

This is a full time (0.8-1.0), day shift Coding Specialist OP Certified position in the CPG Physician Billing department.

Responsible for assignment of ICD-9-CM and CPT codes, as applicable of all patient charts; reviewing medical record documentation for appropriate CPT / HCPCS code for services where Physician Billing is responsible for charge entry (EIM, OPS, Outpatient Observation, etc.).

Minimum Required :

• At least three (3) years of coding experience with CCS credentials required.
• Must have completed classes in medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and knowledge of coding methodologies.
• Will consider three (3) to five (5) years coding experience, in an acute care setting, in lieu of formal education.

Preferred / Desired :

Weekend Requirements : As needed for month end or special projects.
