Position Summary

The Interoperability (HL7 / API) Integration Analyst will play a critical role in enabling secure, accurate, and efficient data exchange across the organizations healthcare ecosystem. This role focuses on building, maintaining, and optimizing system interfaces and APIs to ensure seamless communication between Meditech Expanse and external systems (EHRs, labs, HIEs, payers, and third-party applications).

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with HL7 messaging, FHIR standards, and integration engines such as Mirth, Cloverleaf, or Corepoint. They will collaborate with clinical, technical, and vendor teams to design, implement, and support real-time and batch data workflows that uphold interoperability standards and HIPAA compliance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain HL7, FHIR, and API-based interfaces between Meditech Expanse and external systems.
• Configure and monitor message flows using integration engines (e.g., Mirth Connect, Rhapsody, Cloverleaf, Corepoint).
• Troubleshoot and resolve interface errors, message queues, and data mapping issues.
• Collaborate with application analysts, clinical informatics, and external vendors to ensure data accuracy and continuity across systems.
• Support real-time data exchange for ADT, orders, results, billing, and scheduling interfaces.
• Implement security and compliance best practices in accordance with HIPAA and organizational policies.
• Maintain documentation, version control, and change management for all interfaces and APIs.
• Participate in system upgrades, migrations, and new system integrations, providing input on interoperability strategy.
• Leverage SQL and scripting languages (Python, Java, JavaScript) for data validation, transformation, and troubleshooting.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members on interface best practices.
