What You'll Do

If you want to use your Case Management skills to help struggling and vulnerable families, this could be a great opportunity for you. Anchor Inn, located in Bayside, Queens, is an emergency shelter for asylum-seeking families with children. As a Case Manager, you'll provide culturally sensitive, trauma-informed intake and assessment for your clients and track their progress in the CARES case management system. You'll coordinate and provide service linkages to medical and mental health care, immigration legal services, childcare, school registration and related services, ESL instruction, interpretation, and translation services, among others.

You're a great fit for this role if you have :

  • Bachelor's degree in social work or a related field, or equivalent skills and experience.
  • Bilingual fluency in a second language, ideally Spanish / English.
  • Case management experience working with vulnerable people who have experienced significant trauma.
  • Crisis intervention experience.
  • Basic understanding of immigration laws and procedures.
  • Knowledge of child development, child welfare, and education requirements.
  • Great organizational skills and the ability to learn quickly and problem-solve under pressure.
  • Strong computer skills required, with knowledge of CARES a plus.

Compensation

Actual compensation will not be less than the applicable minimum wage, prevailing wage, or exempt salary requirements under federal, state and local laws.
