Overview
Mechanical Design Engineer II role at Planet Pharma. This position involves the research, design, and development of mechanical and electromechanical products and systems, including implantable and external neurostimulators and patient therapy remotes. Responsibilities
- Design, development, and verification of mechanical and electromechanical systems (e.g., implantable neurostimulators, external neurostimulators, patient therapy remotes) to meet safety, reliability, and performance standards.
- Project management from concept through full-scale manufacturing, ensuring deliverables meet product requirements, technical specifications, timelines, and budget constraints.
- Innovation and improvement to enhance safety, performance, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness of systems and processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical, software, and manufacturing to deliver integrated solutions.
- Problem solving and analysis of complex engineering challenges with development of innovative solutions.
- Prototyping, testing, design characterization, and development of verification protocols and reports; involvement in test equipment qualification and validation as needed.
- Documentation and compliance : prepare detailed engineering documentation and ensure designs comply with regulatory requirements and department practices.
- Communication with senior internal and external stakeholders to influence project direction.

Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.Experience in component / product design including drawings, tolerancing, and bill of materials.Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.Strong technical writing skills including test protocols and test reports; experience with test method development, execution, and data analysis.General experience with mechanical engineering principles.Nice to have
Basic understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and ability to interpret ASME Y14.5 standards.Concept generation and selection, DFMEA, and verification testing including test planning, execution, data acquisition, and documentation.Experience with statistical analysis (e.g., Minitab or similar) and rapid prototyping techniques for medical applications.Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling software (e.g., Creo, SolidWorks) and relevant experience in the Medical Device Industry.Location and compensation
