Description : Job Summary :

Under the direction of the Director the Hyperbaric Technician administers hyperbaric oxygen therapy to patients as prescribed by the Hyperbaric Physician.

PATIENT AGE GROUP SERVED (Indicate the patient population(s) served)

• Adolescent : (12-17)
• Adults (18-64)
• Geriatric : (65 years & older)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

The Hyperbaric Technician will be able to demonstrate the following essential competencies, duties and responsibilities as a result of education and experience.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES :

AGE-RELATED COMPETENCIES :

Knowledge of Age-related education.

Information Management : Treats all information and data within the scope of the position with appropriate confidentiality and security.

Risk Management / Quality Management / Safety : Cooperates fully in all Risk Management, Quality Management, and Safety Activities and Investigations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED (Indicate all required licensed and / or certifications, include any required skills and / or abilities. You may also indicate any preferences)

o National Board of Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist

o Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician

o Practical Nurse (LPN / LVN)

o Registered Nurse

o Emergency Medical Technician

o Medical Assistant

o Certified Hyperbaric Technologist

MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED :

ENVIROMENTAL CONDITIONS :

Due to the highly flammable environment the Hyperbaric Technician must provide a high quality and safe standard for patient care. The HBO Technician must communicate with physicians and staff. This position is ultimately responsible for courteous, efficient customer care and safe operations of the Hyperbaric Chambers and supporting equipment.
