Iconic Dermatology is a rapidly growing, patient-centered dermatology practice offering high-quality medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatologic care. With multiple board-certified providers, we pride ourselves on exceptional patient experience, operational excellence, and strong team culture.

We are seeking an experienced Billing Lead to join our team in-house and oversee billing operations, supporting our revenue cycle. This position will serve as the primary point of contact coordinating directly with our off-site billing company. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing billing tasks with minimal oversight.

Compensation :

• $22-25 per hour

Key Responsibilities

Primary point of contact coordinating directly with our off-site billing company

Review and reconcile practice billing statements and reports

Oversee and manage  authorizations, referrals, and benefits verification

Ensure accurate application of  coordination of benefits (COB) and insurance rules

Maintain working knowledge of medical billing workflows and common dermatology billing scenarios

Understand the basics of dermatology medical coding (ICD-10, CPT)

Post patient payments across multiple systems and deposit checks accurately and promptly

Monitor patient and insurance credits, balances, and refunds; resolve discrepancies on patient ledgers

Collaborate with front desk, clinical, and administrative teams to ensure clean claims and efficient workflows

Communicate with insurance companies to resolve claim denials and payment issues

Support training and mentorship of billing team members

Maintain strict confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and practice standards

Qualifications

3+ years of medical billing experience required; dermatology preferred

Strong understanding of : Coordination of benefits (COB), Authorizations and referrals, Patient ledgers, credits, and balances

Experience posting patient and insurance payments

Familiarity with ICD-10 and CPT coding fundamentals

Proficient with EMR / Practice Management systems (ModMed experience is a plus)

Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills

High attention to detail with an ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

Preferred Skills

Previous dermatology billing experience

ModMed / EMA PM knowledge

Experience with payer portal utilization

Strong Excel / Google Sheets proficiency
