At Oracle our exciting mission to build a premier health data platform with intelligent services, brings about several interesting technical challenges. As part of this team, you will accelerate several architectural efforts - achieve orders of magnitude data processing latency improvement, creating comprehensive patient health records that can scale to entire populations of nations, creating a health data lake at massive scale to enable a host of intelligent health services. Healthcare applications are mission critical requiring advancement to highest levels of availability and disaster recovery capabilities. As we partner with Oracle Cloud engineering teams, you will participate in advancement and early adoption of cutting edge OCI Big Data, data lake and data warehouse services and products. The Health Data platform will have global reach, requiring engineering advancements to support varying data laws and regulations, data formats and content.

By constructing scalable data lakes, integrating diverse healthcare data sources, and ensuring data quality, availability, and compliance, you will empower teams to develop predictive analytics, personalized care recommendations, and intelligent clinical decision support tools. Your contributions will accelerate data-driven innovation, supporting a new era of AI-powered healthcare applications that improve patient outcomes and operational efficiency, while adhering to stringent data regulations worldwide.

We're looking for a highly skilled engineers to design and build high-scale, cloud-based data processing systems that can handle massive amounts of data with low latency. You'll work with software engineering leads and engineering managers to perform design, implement code and deliver data processing software to our customers and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities :

Implement distributed, scalable, and fault-tolerant software systems.

Build cloud services on top of the modern OCI infrastructure.

Participation in peer / code reviews.

Participate in the entire software lifecycle, from design to development, to quality assurance, to production deployment, and ongoing support and maintenance.

Invest in the best engineering and operational practices upfront to ensure our software quality bar is high.

Optimize data processing pipelines for orders of magnitude higher throughput and faster latencies.

Leverage a plethora of internal tooling at OCI to develop, build, deploy, and troubleshoot software.

Required Qualifications :

Bachelor's Degree required

Strong OO design and programming experience in one or more JVM languages

Demonstrated competence in taking ambiguous functional and / or product requirements and partitioning them based on functional alignment.

Experience with working with technical leadership to translate requirements into actionable technical requirements and per-component designs.

Experience with all aspects of the development, characterization and deployment of features spanning multiple components.

Experience with distributed systems implementing SaaS / IaaS, data pipelines, data ETL in real-time or batch environments.

Experience in technologies and design concepts around Big Data processing, Analytics, relational databases, unstructured storage, Hadoop or similar parallel compute technologies, stream processing, etc.

Familiarity with Public Cloud SaaS, PaaS Services and / or related technology experience, Cloud Engineering Infrastructure Development

5+ years of experience using an object-oriented programming language

Desirable Qualifications :

Experience with partnering with managers to participate in defining and driving the technical culture and processes of an engineering team.

Experience building services and API endpoints

US : Hiring Range in USD from : $79,200 to $178,100 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Paid time off : Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
